Update for situation with carbs and front brakes
After much diagnostics I found the following
Carbs
I pulled the carbs apart and gave them a goo cleaning. There were signs of the engine backfiring into the carbs which told me that the carbs were flooding out. Upon further inspection I determined that one of the new floats in the rebuild kit were twisted causing the fuel level to be too high. this would allow fuel to drain down the intake when the engine was shut off (that’s why it would start with no choke when cold)
I also Found out that these carbs have had a jet kit installed at some point (probably to match the aftermarket exhaust) so I had to use the jets that were already in the carbs. I did find some blockage in the idle jet. (which might explain why the engine would die if left to idle too long)
So now the carbs are all rebuilt and back on the bike and appear to be working properly.(I won’t know for sure until I get the front wheel issue figured out and take it for a test ride)
Front Wheel Drag
I found that the front brake caliper is dragging an after some diagnostics it appears that the issue is a bad brake line. I have one on order and we will see when it arrives
